The city is known for its sky scrapers as a centre of international business but there is another side of Perth with endless beaches, 19th century buildings, world class museums, awesome fresh produce, a relaxed outdoor lifestyle and more that are waiting to be discovered. The park is also well known for its sea lions and penguins. You can spend the entire day here especially with kids, arrange for a little picnic or lunch at a waterfront café.
Take a train and after an hour you are in Mandurah- this picturesque estuary is the home of many migratory birds and bottlenose dolphins. The canals are lines with lavish house just as you see on TV; a great place to spend an entire day in.  For that country charm – take a trip to Avon Valley.  The quaint villages, the craft shops, museums, vintage streets, the old world charm in the villages and home style food are on the menu of most restaurants and eateries- giving you a feeling of home away from home. New Norcia is quite popular these days – it is the country’s sole monastic town.
